This qualification does not cover shopfitting. Meaningful involvement of industry is essential to achieving this qualification outcome. It also applies to persons who are formally engaged in a traineeship in accordance with the Australian Apprenticeships policy. The MSF20516 Certificate II in Furniture Making Pathways is the appropriate qualification for VET delivered to secondary students. There are no specific licences that relate to this qualification. However, depending on the state and territory where work is undertaken licensing may relate to this qualification where the candidate is required to work on-site. The licensing requirement will usually involve construction induction training. Where licensing is required the unit CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry should be selected. If no licensing requirement exists (e.g. where all work will be off-site) then the unit MSMWHS200 Work safely should be selected.
