New TAFE NSW floristry course takes you to the flower farm
|Farm fresh flowers: Enrolments are now open for TAFE NSW’s new floristry course giving students an introduction to floristry at the beautiful Jonima Flower Farm in Yanderra.
Flower fans rejoice! Enrolments are now open for TAFE NSW’s new Floristry course, held at the beautiful Jonima Flower Farm in Yanderra, a short 30 minute drive from TAFE NSW’s Campbelltown College.
Running one day a week over four weeks, the course is catered to those wanting to learn floristry skills for their own enjoyment. The first course is set to start on Wednesday 8 March 2017.
With no formal entry requirements, this course is perfect for anyone who wants to let their inner florist bloom in a friendly and supportive environment.
Each week students will learn a cross section of floristry skills including hand tied and wired arrangements as well flower design and colour theory. Lessons are taught using farm-fresh flowers under the guidance of an industry-qualified and highly experienced teacher.
All tools, flowers and materials are covered in the fees and students can take home their designs at the end of each class.
Floristry Head Teacher Joanne Hynard believes this course is a great opportunity for business operators within the Campbelltown area to gain access to beautiful fresh flowers.
“A lot of businesses, such as wedding and catering services as well as motels and health spas in the area may not have access to flower markets because of their location. This course will give them the opportunity to meet their growers and obtain fresh flowers” she said.
“This course will also help build their confidence and floristry knowledge in a really nice environment. Each class will be an enjoyable day on a beautiful flower farm and an informal way of getting into floristry.”
Free parking is available at the farm and light refreshments are provided throughout the day. To register your interest in this course, please contact Robyn Gorham on email@example.com or call 9722 5332 on Tuesday or Thursday.
